If you love The Wheel of Time
Village youth, prophecy, a world that keeps widening. Storm Unbound has the same pull with less sprawl, and the world keeps expanding in Book One and beyond.
If you love The Stormlight Archive
Factions and politics drive the plot, but the deities stay minor. In Book One, mortals move the story.
If you love Mistborn
You'll like magic that has rules. Affinity is something you're born with, nobody commands every element, and how far you can take yours comes down to aptitude.
